Balatonfüred is a Hungarian resort town located within the County of Veszprem, in the region of Balaton. This town is famous as a resort area which counts with great warm waters and beautiful landscapes. Besides this, Balatonfüred is also well known as a very attractive yachting and fishing area, being this way ideal for any visitors who wishes to enjoy water related activities during a vacation in Hungary.
The resort town of Balatonfüred has a population of approximately 13.000 inhabitants and an area of about 46,5 km2, in such a way that its population density is of around 285 inhabitants per km2. This town is located near several other attractive spots, offering this way the chance to meet a variety of different destinations in a short period of time. Among the other towns visitors could find near Balatonfüred, there are, for example, Csopac, Aszofo, Tihany, and Balatonszoos.
Balatonfüred has several miner water springs as well as two marinas, and as the popular resort area it is, it has hotels and facilities enough to receive around 50.000 tourists per summer. Every summer, this resort town becomes crowded of visitors from not only other areas of Hungary but also from several other European countries and many other parts of the world as well.
While walking around and meeting Balatonfüred visitors would be surrounded of a very attractive environment composed by constructions from the 18th and 19th centuries, as well as several shops, restaurants, and tourist attractions. Besides this, this town also has a large camping site, where those tourists who enjoy being in direct contact with the nature would surely be able to have a great time.
The best moment for visiting Balatonfüred is during summer time, although tourists who wish to avoid crowds would probably be more comfortable visiting it during the last weeks of spring or the first weeks of autumn. When visiting this town in summer and for the first time, tourists would be able to attend a ball offered in their honor. Every August Balatonfüred offers a ball welcoming its new visitors, being this one of the main festivities of the town.
