The Spanish neighborhood of Santa Cruz

Santa Cruz is one of the most famous neighborhoods in the Spanish region of Sevilla. This area is very attractive since it offers the environment of a typical antique Spanish town, full of traditional spots and unique constructions, allowing visitors to enjoy them in the same way people would have done centuries ago.

One of the most interesting spots visitors can meet in Santa Cruz is the Patio de Banderas in the Alcázar. The Patio de Banderas is very interesting not only due to its own characteristics but also due to the fact that it provides a unique view on the surroundings and the main Cathedral.

Other place tourists should make sure of meeting while being in Santa Cruz is the Callejon del Agua. The Callejon del Agua, or the water alley, can be found after the Alcázar and is a very pretty spot to observe. After visiting this spot, tourists would be able to reach the Plaza Alfaro located next to it, and which shows the beautiful balconies that inspired the story of Romeo and Juliet.

Plaza Santa Cruz is one next stop tourists should make in their itinerary throughout this area. Plaza Santa Cruz is a very interesting square which dates from several centuries ago and shows beautiful roses as well as a very peculiar iron cross from the XVII century called La Cerrajería.

Murillo, one of the most famous Spanish artists was born in Santa Cruz and his house is open for visitors. This house is not only interesting due to the fact that this artist lived in it but also due to the fact that it has been transformed into a local museum which exhibits many art works and other elements related to the history of the neighborhood.

Thos tourists who wish to meet constructions which are interesting from an architectonic point of view would also be able to have a good time in Santa Cruz. This town has several interesting buildings from different époques and showing a variety of styles, among which we can name the famous fortified palace of Alcázar, the Cathedral, the Giralda, and the Hospital of the Venerables.
